Q61: Can the council be held responsible for damages if a car with VIA registered wheels installed is involved in a traffic accident?

Q59:Can trial test articles be registered?
A59: VIA registration is made in order to show that VIA registered products are in compliance with the technical standards set by MLIT based on the result of testing and to contribute to consumer protection. Prototypes or products tested under different conditions cannot be registered.

Q60:What is the surveillance test for?
A60: The surveillance test is carried out to not only confirm whether products available on the market are in compliance with the technical standards set by MLIT to ensure consumer protection but also to educate and raise awareness in wheel manufacturers and sellers about the importance of producing and selling products in compliance with the right quality and performance standards to secure safety too. The registered wheel is an object of the surveillance test, too.

Q61: Can the council be held responsible for damages if a car with VIA registered wheels installed is involved in a traffic accident?
A61: We are not held responsible for any problems with quality, usage or attachment of any products manufactured or sold in the market because we are to verify and conform the VIA quality compliance on certain products applied for registrations for a certain such registration period.
Any such problem is to be handled with the responsibilities of manufactures or sellers of the products.
